National Signing Day. Those are three simple words to anyone outside of the South Eastern Conference.
Inside the conference? Yeah, it is time. Time to call in to work. Time to huddle by the LCD TV to watch high school kids play with your emotions while they pick Team Beta over the team they were supposed to sign with.
Four SEC teams are currently ranked in the mythical "Run to Recruiting Day". Are these recruiting classes worth their weight in gold or are they just hype?
It is time for us to screw our heads on correctly and look for ourselves.

As the UT men's team settles under the load of Bruce Pearl's eight game suspension for lying to NCAA investigators weighs on the team ... the UT men's basketball team is potentially facing yet another (((minor?))) violation. It is well documented that team icon Renaldo "Swiperboy" Woolridge has more game off the court as a rapper than on the court as a baller. The man can write and rap his tail off ... that much is a given.
According to an article on GoVolsXtra.com, Woolridge and his crew were granted exclusive access to the upstairs of a Knoxville bar frequented by UT students and athletes alike ... to shoot his latest rap video. no comments
So, in my opinion, who are the most viable candidates for the job? Who is the next great wonder to bring LSU's offense out of the mediocre doldrums that Gary Crowton put them in?

Another year, another National Championship for the SEC. Come on haters, keep yelling that Oregon was "that close", that Boise State still deserves a shot, or that TCU really has the best team in the nation. Keep talking it and we will keep adding hardware to Southeastern Conference trophy cases. While it is cool to root for the "little guy" ... facts are facts ... your conference <insert name here> is no better than 2nd best ... the SEC rules the roost.
It sucks to see it everywhere you look, online and offline. Yes, the SEC is (again) the best conference in the nation.
My hat is off to the Oregon Ducks though, that team is loaded and could have won the BCS Title last night, but as in years past, Auburn would simply not be denied.
Five in a row ... nine since 1996 ... do the math ... I mean, honestly, what else is there to say?
In that span, the SEC has outmatched three of the other five BCS conferences ... the ACC, the Big 10, and the Pac 10.
Bring your statistics, bring your hyperbole, and to be completely honest, you are going to have to bring your bullshit while you are at it because no matter how you look at it, at the end of the day, we all know which conference is the best.
... and just think ... this was a down year for the SEC. no comments
Most experts had Auburn third or fourth in their preseason predictions, yours truly included. Like the experts, I looked at LSU's and Alabama's emmense talent, but failed to fully appreciate what leadership means to a football team. Auburn has 24 seniors on this team, and while I took that into consideration, I didn't think that would be enough to overcome the talent gap between Auburn and Alabama and LSU. I had Auburn at 10-2, with losses to LSU and at Alabama. Enter Cam Newton.
no commentsThe Auburn Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks meet in the 2010 SEC Championship game. With AU opening as 5 point favorites (we expect that to run down to @ 2.5 point favorites by kick-off), never count a Steve Spurrier coached team out.
How do Auburn and the Gamecocks match-up? What will be the edge in the game? Will Cam Newton survive a week of being asked "what's in your wallet"? no comments
