In what was billed as a game for the ages, the Crimson Tide rolled over the Florida Gators, stepped on their faces, and twisted.  From gun to gun, this game was never in question.  The Gators entered the SEC Championship Game as five point favorites and are going home spanked. no comments

I had the opportunity to sit down tonight with two great minds when it comes to college football.  Aaron Torres (www.AaronTorres-Sports.com) and Allen Kenney (www.BlatantHomerism.com) know their stuff and know it well.  I try to hold my end of the bargain up, but be warned, I do have a face for the radio and a voice made for the shower.

Offensive Player of the Year
Ryan Mallet QB Arkansas Razorbacks

Mallet completed 57.2% of his passes for 3422 yards, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions

Defensive Player of the Year
Rennie Curran LB Georgia Bulldogs
Averaged 10.2 tackles per game and completed the regular season with 122 total tackles

Honorable Mention
Antonio Coleman DE Auburn Tigers (9 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss)

SEC Freshman of the Year
Warren Norman RB Vanderbilt Commodores
Broke Herschel Walker's Freshman all purpose yards record by recording 783 rushing yards (5.4 ypc average and three touchdowns), 19 receptions for 108 yards (one touchdown), 1050 yards on kick-off returns (three touchdowns).  Norman led the SEC in all purpose yardage with 1941 yards (161.8 yds per game).

Honorable Mention
Alshon Jeffery WR South Carolina Gamecocks (735 receiving yards, 17.1 yards per catch, six touchdowns)

sec bowl gamesAs you are reading this, there are still several backroom deals being cut ... don't you just love college bowl season?

Of course, people are constantly adjusting their college bowl projections .... here are our original picks that were made on November 16th ... over two weeks ago.

Once LSU has been released from BCS consideration, expect the dam to break and tons of announcements to be forth coming ... at least we are not (likely) going to have to wait until next week as we would have if Bama and Florida both were not undefeated. no comments

carlos dunlap arrestFlorida coach Urban Meyer has suspended DE Carlos Dunlap for the SEC Championship game.  In a program that has been riddled with arrests during his tenure, Urban Meyer has done the right thing.  While the coach could have put the player above the team and 'allow the justice system to run its course', Meyer did not hesitate to send a message to his players.

Unlike in past incidences, Meyer did not suspend one of his best players for a menial game nor did he only suspend Dunlap for the first half.  Meyer has suspended Carlos Dunlap indefinitely while the athletic department and University gathers more information.

Reviewing the judge's statements, will this violation go deeper than a simple case of underage drinking?  While that is doubtful, according to ESPN's Chris Low:
