crystal ballWeek two has already begun with Auburn escaping Starkville, MS with a key SEC win.  Of course, that means I am currently 0 for 1 so far for the week.

Who will the winners and losers be for this weekend?  Hopefully, tonight's game was not an indication of how my weekend will go.

There are several key match-ups that could determine the pecking order in their respective divisions.

Auburn leads the series 58-23-2 and is 5-1 in the last six match-ups

Auburn travels to Starkville for the Tigers first test of the season.  Many bloggers are calling it "returning to the scene of the crime" in reference to the 3-2 win two seasons ago.   no comments

sports pick emThe log jam that is the SECRivals Picks Panel ushers in week two of the college football season.

Welcome to the first separation week.

Last week, of the ten panelists, six went 12-1 for the week (Thank YOU Ole Miss) ... What will this week bring?

For starters, there are several games that our illustrious panel do not agree ... thankfully.  Among this week's games are:
South Carolina/Georgia, Auburn/Miss State, Florida State/Oklahoma, and we even had one panelist take Tennessee ... uhhhhhm, we aren't picking against the spread ... sheep, love ya brudder, but honestly?  Tennessee over Oregon?

It could happen, just ask Jacksonville State (appreciate that Ole Miss). no comments

Normally, we do not bother to take the time to write an article redirecting you to a single link ... since it is a) our article b) on the front page of AL.com's sports page and c) A rundown of every SEC team, then why not? no comments

Heisman PoseAlright, go ahead and bring the heat ... the season is still too early to call ... and we are not jumping on the Kellen Moore bandwagon just because Boise State squeaked by Virginia Tech.

With that said, many will likely disagree with our Top Three Heisman candidates and that is fine.

Like I said, the season is still young.  After going out on a limb in week one, we are slowing down a bit.  Not to see which direction the wind blows mind you because if you know anything about me, popular opinion is the last thing that I care about.

Our pre-season ballot was more like a wish list than anything with our Top Five including:

Case Keenum, QB, Sr., Houston,  Jake Locker, QB, Sr., Washington, Ryan Mallett, QB, Jr., Arkansas, Mark Ingram, RB, Jr., Alabama, Dion Lewis, RB, So., Pittsburgh.

After being stopped dead in their tracks defeated in week one, anyone will be hard pressed to push for Jake Locker and Dion Lewis for the trophy and Mark Ingram's injury is unfortunate.

Who do we have in Week Two's ballot?  Truthfully, it is more of a wide open race than the MSM wants to push.  At this point, I would vote for the fine lady in the photo if I could.  It is still too early. no comments

alabama footballThis is the first season in recent memory I can remember struggling this much while attempting to put together an SEC Power Poll.

Honestly, we have Alabama and then the rest of the league.

Placing the Crimson Tide in the number one slot is the easy part.  After that?  Seriously, there is a log jam.

There are several teams that showed the ability to have serious offensive problems, but yet, they won their games convincingly ... that happens when you have that many cupcakes on the schedule.

After week two is in the books, we will all know somewhat more than we do now of where some of these teams are actually at.  At the moment, if anyone believes that Team C is head and shoulders above Team F, they are just being a homer.
