sec football picksThe panel has convened once again to offer up their picks for this week's game.  My picks went up yesterday via my Osama bin Laden "hiding in the cave" video ... at this point, the only picks that I am still struggling with are:

Arkansas at Georgia ... yes, Arkansas is horrible on the road ... but honestly?  Georgia was held to 6 points by South Carolina's defense.  SC has a good defense, but are they great?  If Arkansas had shown fast starts in the first half, I would have easily taken them this week ... but they have struggled against inferior opponents ... Arkansas could have a shot at winning that game, but I am sticking with my original pick in the Georgia Bulldogs ... which usually causes UGA to lose.

Florida at Tennessee:  Which Florida offense shows up?  The Gators are good on defense, but struggled early in the game against USF ... Tennessee gave Oregon everything they wanted and then some ... in the first hald.  Could be a closer game than many think.

Is Clemson better than we want to think?  Can Auburn find the offense they lost in the second half of last week's game?  Have been really waffling on this pick as well, but seeing the entire panel take AU makes me wonder if we are over compensating for Auburn? no comments

SEC Football picks for week 3 ... stepped outside of the box to dance in the rain ... no, was only kidding about losing a bet ... the audio slow down during the Georgia pick is next level and I have no idea how/why it happened ... gives it the "SAW" effect though Wink

Quick analysis with no notes ... made my picks completely with my gut and on the fly ... I realize that there are a couple of you out there that detest that and that is ok ... the exit is that way ... just saying.

Who do you have this week?  Florida, Arkansas, and Auburn have all struggled at times ... who do you have?  The video (after the jump) has every SEC football match up with score predictions ... hitting the scores can be trying.

If you are looking for a dude wearing a suit or a specific team's colors ... sorry, you are going to be sorely disappointed.  The purpose for using video is easy:  this is the future (ugh), and I was pressed for time.

aaron torresI went on Aaron Torres' podcast yesterday to talk about the SEC from week two and leading into week three.

If you do not read Aaron Torres on a daily basis, then you have no clue what you are missing.  Torres is THE young, up and coming, talent in the blogosphere.  If it is sports related, then he is either watching it, recording it, writing about it, or tweeting it.

Check out Aaron's site or his twitter feed ... you will not be sorry ... at all. no comments

crystal ballAs we head into week three, the focus on the SEC is becoming more clear.  While all 12 teams began the season with hopes and aspirations, fans have a general idea where their team is.

Looking at the lines for this week, there are a couple of surprises ... and some that are not.

Arkansas at Georgia could be a defining moment for UGA's entire season.  Clemson at Auburn is the best non-conference match-up.  Which team do the Florida Gators play?  The fired up ball hawking team or the one from the 2nd half that essentially quit playing?

Week two has been wrapped up and the results have been tallied.  Considering the day that I have had, it was a feat.

Congratulations to MoonDogSports.com for their 13-0 perfect week.  In fact, Fred from MoonDogSports would be a perfect 26-0 on the season if it had not been for Jacksonville State's upset in week one (thanks Ole Miss). no comments

crystal ballWeek two has already begun with Auburn escaping Starkville, MS with a key SEC win.  Of course, that means I am currently 0 for 1 so far for the week.

Who will the winners and losers be for this weekend?  Hopefully, tonight's game was not an indication of how my weekend will go.

There are several key match-ups that could determine the pecking order in their respective divisions.

sports pick emThe log jam that is the SECRivals Picks Panel ushers in week two of the college football season.

Welcome to the first separation week.

Last week, of the ten panelists, six went 12-1 for the week (Thank YOU Ole Miss) ... What will this week bring?

For starters, there are several games that our illustrious panel do not agree ... thankfully.  Among this week's games are:
South Carolina/Georgia, Auburn/Miss State, Florida State/Oklahoma, and we even had one panelist take Tennessee ... uhhhhhm, we aren't picking against the spread ... sheep, love ya brudder, but honestly?  Tennessee over Oregon?

It could happen, just ask Jacksonville State (appreciate that Ole Miss). no comments

Normally, we do not bother to take the time to write an article redirecting you to a single link ... since it is a) our article b) on the front page of AL.com's sports page and c) A rundown of every SEC team, then why not? no comments

Heisman PoseAlright, go ahead and bring the heat ... the season is still too early to call ... and we are not jumping on the Kellen Moore bandwagon just because Boise State squeaked by Virginia Tech.

With that said, many will likely disagree with our Top Three Heisman candidates and that is fine.

Like I said, the season is still young.  After going out on a limb in week one, we are slowing down a bit.  Not to see which direction the wind blows mind you because if you know anything about me, popular opinion is the last thing that I care about.

Our pre-season ballot was more like a wish list than anything with our Top Five including:

Case Keenum, QB, Sr., Houston,  Jake Locker, QB, Sr., Washington, Ryan Mallett, QB, Jr., Arkansas, Mark Ingram, RB, Jr., Alabama, Dion Lewis, RB, So., Pittsburgh.

After being stopped dead in their tracks defeated in week one, anyone will be hard pressed to push for Jake Locker and Dion Lewis for the trophy and Mark Ingram's injury is unfortunate.

Who do we have in Week Two's ballot?  Truthfully, it is more of a wide open race than the MSM wants to push.  At this point, I would vote for the fine lady in the photo if I could.  It is still too early. no comments

alabama footballThis is the first season in recent memory I can remember struggling this much while attempting to put together an SEC Power Poll.

Honestly, we have Alabama and then the rest of the league.

Placing the Crimson Tide in the number one slot is the easy part.  After that?  Seriously, there is a log jam.

There are several teams that showed the ability to have serious offensive problems, but yet, they won their games convincingly ... that happens when you have that many cupcakes on the schedule.

After week two is in the books, we will all know somewhat more than we do now of where some of these teams are actually at.  At the moment, if anyone believes that Team C is head and shoulders above Team F, they are just being a homer.
