Capital One is rolling out their Mascot All-America Team and we need YOUR help!
Of course, the Mascot Challenge is a hotly contested affair every year ... as an SEC fan, it is your civic duty to stand-up and click the freaking buttons to make sure our SEC Mascot's are fairly represented within this contest.
It does not matter which SEC teams you select, just make sure you do not select the Buck Nut "Brutus", let's set an agenda and keep our most hated feared rivals off of the team this year ... Yep, this is YOUR chance

OK, so Labor Day officially ended an hour ago, here are the Labor Day Edition Links .... we were watching the Boise State / Va Tech Game too ;-) no comments
The opening lines for SEC Football games for the weekend of September 11th, don't forget AU/MSU is on Thursday this week. no comments
First, I hate the first week of the season ... outside of a few teams ... nobody ever plays anyone ... unless you count Jacksonville State.
JSU ruined every ballot ... like anyone could have soberly predicted that upset. Six of the ten panelists completed the week at 12-1 (thank you Tyrone Nix). no comments
First off, Good Lord ... collectively as a league ... the SEC looked awful in week one.
Yes, most of the teams scored a ton of points, but defensively there are enough needed improvements it would give Bob Villa a heart attack. Where do we even begin? With Florida's mediocre start? Ole Miss' melt down against an FCS team?
Let's get it over with. Ole Miss was cruising 31-10. By all rights and means, this game was their's to lose. So they did. The Jacksonville Jaguars State football team did not quit playing.

Here it is ... the remainder of week one ... as normal, I am pushed for time, so let's grab it and go. no comments
Here is a nugget for you to check out. Kevin Holtham is a personal friend and a heck of a sports handicapper. Unlike many of the Vegas clan, Kevin takes the time to turn over every rock ... takes a look at the intangibles that most over look ... and takes his time on his analysis ... that is rare. no comments
Week One of the college football season is upon us. The teams are making final preparations, but honestly ... some may not be ready. For others, the cup cake being served up across the line of scrimmage from them will make no difference.
We appreciate the effort put forth by our picks panel members, which include:
Deborah Horton, Aaron Torres, SportsOverload.com's Ron Jumper, StraitPinkie.com, MoonDogSports.com, LeftOverHotDog.com, AA from the Tony Basilio Show in Knoxville, FightisRight.com, myself, and to keep everyone honest: My eight year old son, Nick.
Each week, the panelists will be given a list that includes all SEC games and enough out of conference games to bring the total amount of games picked each week to the magic number of 13.
How did we arrive at this magical number? Honestly? We picked it from a hat.
See picks that you disagree with? Rail them in the comments section. Of course, feel free to throw your own personal picks in there as well ... who knows, you might (eventually) win something ... time will tell on that one. no comments
Another season of college football is almost upon us. As many sites, I have compiled my list (in order) of our H_ _ _ _ _ _ Memorial Trophy (further referenced as "HMT" due to the ludicrous nature of the Downtown Athletic Club's Draconian "No Fair Rights" rules) candidates.
Before we begin, let us throw out a little on opinion ... personally, I believe this award is over hyped. For far too long, the 'best' over all collegiate football player rarely wins this award. It is all subjective. While many great football players have won the trophy, many solid defensive players have been skipped over in the process.
Last season is indicative of this. Mark Ingram is a fantastic football player. He truly is. BUT ... and not enough actual voters do this litmus test ... remove Ingram from the team. Does his back-up duplicate his numbers? If so, or even if it is close, then justify the "best collegiate football player" mantra.
Keep in mind that this is a Pre-Season ballot ... of course, as this season progresses it can (and will) change.
This Pre-Season HMT ballot is brought to you by our friends at Cage Brawl Fights
